ONE OF MY FAVORITE “HOT” SCENES…

“You’re quick.” He nodded approvingly, and she felt a stab of irritation.”You’re condescending.”The corner of his mouth curled up. “Honey, you’re about to get your ass handed-”

Her lightning-fast kick caught him in the chest, but he grabbed her ankle and jerked her off balance. She landed on her butt and rolled left, but he was on her in a heartbeat, caging her in beneath his big chest, with his palms planted on either side of her head.

She stared up at him, chest heaving. She dug her heels into the mat and tried to lever him off, but it was like pushing a tree.

“Nice try.” He grinner down at her, and she had the satisfaction of seeing the sheen of sweat on his brow.

She made herself go limp for a moment, huffing out a sigh. When his shoulders relaxed, she slid down and rolled out from under him. As she jumped up, she knew he’d let her go. Getting free had been far too easy.

He got to his feet, smiling, and she went at him with a 360 spin kick that caught him off balance and landed him on his butt. She jumped on him, pinning his arms beside him, and she felt a surge of triumph, but it vanished as he heaved himself up and tossed her onto her back. Before she could get a breath, he was between her legs, pinning her to the mat with his hips and clasping her wrists beside her head.

“Give?”

“No.”

He ducked his head down, catching her lower lip in his teeth. She bit back, and then his mouth crushed against hers as his pelvis ground into her. She squirmed and bucked until he pulled away. Heat glittered in his eyes as he gazed down at her. “Now?”

She gave a slight nod. When he released her wrists, she took his head in her hands and pulled him down. The kiss was hot and urgent, and she wrapped her legs around him, squeezing him against her as she dug her fingernails into his scalp. He rolled onto his back, hauling her on top of him with a low groan and shifting her hips so she straddled his lap. She leaned back, panting, but he cupped his hand behind her head and pulled her down for another kiss.

Her breasts settled against his chest. He was huge and strong beneath her, and she rubbed against his body, loving the hardness of it and getting dizzy from all the friction points.

A noise had her jerking back, suddenly alert.

“Who’s here?” she asked.

Once Upon A Zombie

Look what arrived in today’s mail for a future book review‬. Yep, couldn’t resist, looks like I’m going to be sharing my thoughts about books‬ again! Apparently I can’t stay away from author’s, publishers, and book publicity people! They know I’m addicted to books!

With this new book series from Billy Phillips and Jenny Nissenson‬ we’ll be visiting the six kingdoms: Wonderland, Camelot‬, Enchanted Forest, Land Of Oz, Neverland‬, and Zenos Forest. Book 1 takes us “down the rabbit hole”.

All the timeless fairytale‬ characters who once lived forever are now the living dead – think Snow White‬, Cinderella‬, Rapunzel‬, and Sleeping Beauty‬. Even worse, they’re famished. Definitely not the ideal situation for a vulnerable young girl prone to panic attacks.

But what’s scarier – a blood thirsty zombie‬, a panic attack…or the truth?

MY THOUGHTS – Fun and sexy short story. I listened to the audiobook reading version which was narrated by Jason P. Hilton. At first I wasn’t sure I would enjoy the story read by a male because I was thrown off by how weird he sounded as Amy, the main female character. However, the moment we were introduced to Griff, the local ranger, I must admit, I fell for this Grizzly of a man, a man we later learn is a bear shifter.

I enjoyed the story but I definitely expected more than what we got in the end after they both gave in to their desires for the other. I expected the thrill of danger and excitement of a newly discovered love lust to keep going but instead it ended rather abruptly. Kind of like that orgasm about to final release and then stop before spilling over. I was left wondering what happened and wondering why it ended when I was really getting into it. Will I eventually find out more about the mountain lions trying to take over the bears territory?? Will more come to town to stir things up?? Will Griff keep coming to his mate’s rescue?? Overall, I’d say it was still worth a listen to, especially when you’re short on time or just starting a new series and looking for the quick and animalistic version.

Meditation isn’t just about sitting quietly thinking about nothing. You can be mindful, in the moment, and meditate even through coloring a mandala. At first I felt the need to “rush” until I was able to forget time and everything else on my mind. Then I felt like a kid again coloring, then the peace and quiet finally came as I slowed down and paid attention to the marker strokes (next time I’ll use colored pencils I think) and itty bitty coloring spaces.

If you’re looking for some neat mandalas to color, I’m enjoying my COLORING ANIMAL MANDALA’S book by Wendy Piersall from Ulysses Press. Other animals to “relax, focus, reach a higher state of mindfulness and simply enjoy yourself” include snakes, lions, butterflies, swans, tigers, foxes, unicorns, seahorses, and dragons.
